Angke River Trash is Routinely Cleaned Up

"Today's Clean Friday focused on cleaning the area around Jami Tambora Mosque, the banks of Krukut River, and along Jalan Tambora IV," he explained on Friday (11/28).

In addition to the cleanup, the activity also included pruning potentially hazardous trees and clearing the Krukut River of mud sediment and garbage.

He hoped that a cleaner environment would enhance public health and enable residents to go about their daily activities more safely and comfortably.

"We hope that this won't be a one-time effort, but that residents will continue helping to maintain a clean environment every day," he expressed.

Meanwhile, West Jakarta Environment Sub-agency Head Achmad Hariadi noted that his team also provided education on proper waste sorting to create economic value.

"It turns out the residents here are very creative. Some environmental activists have transformed waste into plant pots and other useful items," he said.

According to him, the West Jakarta Environment Sub-agency also provided education and hands-on training on making biopore holes to enhance water absorption in residential areas.

"If everything goes well, from waste sorting to disaster mitigation through biopores, I'm confident Tambora Urban Village could qualify for the Proklim program next year," he stated.
