Protection of Women and Children Requires Collaboration from All Parties

Jakarta City Council Vice Deputy, Rany Mauliani appreciated the Jakarta Provincial Government's step in strengthening the protection of women and children through various free complaint channels.

According to her, these various channels are proof of the government's presence in protecting citizens from all forms of violence.

"We should appreciate whatever efforts the provincial government makes to minimize acts of violence against women and children," she said, Friday (11/28).

The various complaint channels include the 24-hour PPPA Hotline (081317617622), Call Center 112, 44 SAPA Posts at RPTRA, and complaint services via the PUSPA website.

She added that women and children protection policies are not easy to implement because they require support and collaboration from various parties to be effective.

"Safe spaces must be provided from the closest environment, starting from our own homes," she added.

Jakarta City Council's Commission E member, Subki also urged all parties to play an active role in protecting children as the nation's future generation. He supported Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung's move to strengthen child protection regulations in the city.

"We can't leave the responsibility to one side only. The government has a responsibility, the police and security forces have a responsibility, and parents also have a responsibility," he stated.

He also invited parents to increase their attention to their children, including by providing assistance during activities and picking them up from school.

"Parents, officials, and the government all have a role to play," he said.
