North Jakarta Needs More Land Plots For Cemetery

The North Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Sub-Department seems had a trouble to acquire land plot to be used a public cemetery (TPU). This is because local residents still reluctant to acquire such land.

It has entered the stage of correspondence. But we should do payment this year, considering the land belongs to locals

Whereas, the need level for TPU land in North Jakarta is quite high. While the land began to narrow. Moreover, as many as 300 people died each month.

City Administration to Purchase Land For Heroes Cemetery

“We have 8 cemeteries, but some are waqf land. Every day, there are approximately 15 people registered to get cemetery slot,” said Cemetery Section Head of North Jakarta Park and Cemetery Sub-Department, Nasrun Lubis, Friday (7/10).

This year, Lubis expressed that his sub-department is currently trying to acquire a 8,000-square-meters wide land in Cilincing. “It has entered the stage of correspondence. But we should do payment this year, considering the land belongs to locals. We expect it could be acquired as soon as possible,” he explained.

According to him, there is only Semper TPU that can be relied upon to be expanded. While waiting for land acquisition in Cilincing, his side continues to resolve the limitations of grave land in Semper TPU.

“We do this because other cemeteries could not be developed anymore,” he finished.
