Jakarta Ready to Send Gradual Aid to Sumatra Island

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, expressed the Jakarta government's commitment to continue providing support and sending aid to disaster survivors on Sumatra Island. The assistance will be sent gradually if still needed.

"Clearly, our aid will be sent gradually," he expressed, at Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday (12/2).

He also instructed his government and BUMD to soon prepare additional aid to be sent to the victims. Moreover, the impact of the disaster in Sumatra is also very significant.

"Because when I look at the impact of what happened in the field, it is truly beyond my imagination all this time," he explained.

Previously, Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, dispatched humanitarian aid for disaster victims on the island of Sumatra at the Military Maritime Command (Kolinlamil) on Jalan Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok, Koja Sub-district, North Jakarta. The aid was transported using KRI dr Soeharso-990 to Aceh Province, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

As information, the aid sent consists of 1,000 kidswear packages, 1,000 family kits, 1,000 clothing packages, 1,000 boxes of mineral water, 1,000 blankets, and 1,000 foldable mattresses and pillows each.

Then rice, sugar, oil, flour, religious supplies, as well as tanks and water sensors.
