City Govt Ensures Food Supply Stability for Christmas, New Year

The Jakarta government is working to ensure staple commodities are available ahead of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026.

Everything is still stable

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung said that there has been no significant increase in the prices of staple commodities so far.

"There have been no significant hike prices in goods and basic necessities in Jakarta," he expressed, at Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (12/4).

Pramono Wants Christmas and New Year Celebration More Lively

Aside that, inflation in Jakarta is also still stable. The stability of basic commodity prices is an important key to maintaining people's purchasing power during the Christmas and New Year period, which is usually accompanied by increased demand.

"Everything is still stable because Jakarta's inflation is also well maintained," he explained.

With supply and price conditions under control, he is optimistic that the Christmas and New Year celebrations in Jakarta will be safe, comfortable, and lively.

Pramono also admitted to having instructed his staff to create a Christmas celebration atmosphere starting to be felt on the main streets of Jakarta.

"Hopefully, we can celebrate Christmas and New Year more safely, comfortably, and merrily," he hoped.
