Dharma Jaya siapkan 1.000 ton daging sapi jelang Nataru

1,000 Tons of Beef Prepared Ahead of Holiday Season

Perumda Dharma Jaya has assured that meat supplies are sufficient for the upcoming Christmas and New Year. Moreover, stocks are ready to be scaled up if a spike in demand occurs among Jakarta people.

To date, we have stockpiled around 1,000 tons of beef

Perumda Dharma Jaya President Director, Raditya Endra Budiman said that supplies of meat, such as beef, fish, and chicken, are always ready to meet public demand during all National Religious Holidays.

Based on past experience, the company has devised an effective strategy to safeguard current inventory and backup supplies.

City Govt Strengthens Food Task Force Ahead of Christmas and New Year

"To date, we have stockpiled around 1,000 tons of beef, 500 tons of chicken, and more than 300 tons of fish. These stocks are adequate to cover needs for the Christmas and New Year holidays, continuing right through to Ramadan and Idulfitri. Alhamdulillah (Thank God), supplies are safe," he expressed, Friday (12/12).

He projects that meat consumption during the holidays—including Christmas and New Year—remains consistent with previous years, hitting 6,000 tons per month. This represents a 10-15 percent rise compared to typical daily demand.

"There is a significant increase from normal days. Signs of rising demand are already apparent. However, there is no need for concern, as meat stocks are safe," he assured.

Separately, Economy and Finance Assistant, Suharini Eliawati noted Dharma Jaya's positive track record, highlighted by the expansion of its cooperation networks into Eastern Indonesia.

This move is seen as proof of the BUMD's preparedness to safeguard food stability, especially with Christmas and New Year approaching.

"The Jakarta government appreciates Dharma Jaya's efforts in securing stock availability for the year-end holidays, particularly in the face of weather challenges and national production dynamics," she added.

As Jakarta's meat requirements still depend on imports, including from Australia, B2B collaborations and outright purchase agreements serve as strategic steps to ensure sustainable supplies.

She added that given the stock readiness and improved supply chain strategies, the government is optimistic about meeting residents' needs—especially for animal protein—while keeping prices stable.

"These efforts play a key role in ensuring Jakarta's food security stays strong heading into the 2025 Christmas and New Year festivities," she added.

She added that supplies of strategic commodities like rice, eggs, chilies, shallots, garlic, sugar, cooking oil, chicken, and beef are relatively adequate for the year-end.

Consequently, she urged residents to avoid panic buying, assuring them that Jakarta’s food stocks are safe even with the holiday demand spike.

"So, don't panic buy. Stocks are safe, although there is naturally a rise in demand due to Christmas and New Year. That is inevitable," she closed.
