Hundreds of Homecomers Missed The Ship

Hundreds of motorcyclist homecomers who participated Transportation Ministry free homecoming program to Surabaya destination had missed Wihan Sejahtera ship at Tanjung Priok Harbor, North Jakarta, Sunday (7/12). The ship had been forced to return to the harbor to accomodate late homecomers.

The ship was scheduled to depart at 4 pm,  but suddenly it changed to 8 am. Mostly of the homecomers did not receive information that the schedule was changed.

Muhammad Salam (39), one of homecomers admitted that he did not get any information about schedule change. As a result, his family missed the Wihan Sejahtera ship. “Most of homecomers indeed have a short message service about the schedule, unless me,” he uttered.

Authority Head of Tanjung Priok Harbor, Bay M Hasani expressed that schedule change was done as the consideration arrival time in Tanjung Perak Harbor in Surabaya. If the ship is departed at 8AM, then they will arrive at 5 PM in Surabaya. Thus, it eases homecomers continuing trip to their destination.

 “Relayed on our data, indeed not all passengers got the information about the changing, because their number are not active,” he told.

However, from the ship manifest recorded, there are 628 passengers with 181 unit motorcycles, but only 466 passengers with 106 motorcycles got into the ship.
