Ramp Check di Terminal Bus Kampung Rambutan

Buses at the Kampung Rambutan Terminal Undergo Ramp Check

Ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Pulo Gadung Motor Vehicle Testing Service Unit (UP PKB), East Jakarta, has begun conducting ramp checks or roadworthiness checks for Intercity and Interprovincial (AKAP) buses at the Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal.

The inspection includes administrative completeness such as the KIR test book, driving license, vehicle registration, and inspection card (KPs), as well as the technical condition of the vehicle starting from the tires, electrical system, lights, brakes, horn, wipers, to the glass breaker and light fire extinguisher (APAR).

Head Unit of UP PKB Pulo Gadung, Erwansyah said the ramp check aims to provide a sense of security and comfort for travelers and bus crews during the Christmas and New Year period.

"Ramp check is held from December 18 to January 5, 2026," he said, Friday (12/19).

He explained that 15 to 19 fleets are randomly inspected daily. Field findings are generally classic, such as expired or missing vehicle inspection books and inspection cards, and a lack of safety support facilities.

"This ramp check is a monitoring and reminder for drivers and bus companies to maintain the roadworthiness of their vehicles," he explained.

Meanwhile, Head of Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal, Revi Zulkarnain stated there is no tolerance for fleets that do not pass the ramp check.

His side has also conducted a pre-ramp check from November 19 to December 17, 2025 so that the bus company can improve their fleets early.

"It is hoped that the entire fleet will be operationally fit and ready to serve travelers safely," he hoped.
