Join Mandra for a Special New Year’s Eve Celebration at Taman Literasi

For those still deciding where to spend New Year’s Eve, the South Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency (Parekraf) is hosting a public gathering tonight at Taman Literasi Blok M in Kebayoran Baru.

We strongly encourage everyone to use public transit

South Jakarta Parekraf Sub-agency Head, Jonie P. Rumimper said the city-level celebration will be a modest affair, following a directive from Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung to prioritize simplicity.

“The theme for this event aligns with the province’s motto: ‘Jakarta Global City, from Jakarta for Indonesia.’ The most vital components of the program are the collective prayer and the ‘Jakarta for Sumatra’ fundraiser, with QRIS donation points stationed throughout the venue,” he expressed, Wednesday (12/31).

He explained that festivities at the Blok M Literacy Park are scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. The lineup features a variety of attractions, including traditional Betawi cultural performances and appearances by prominent local and national musical acts.

“The lineup includes the Palang Pintu welcoming ceremony, Marawis percussion, traditional dances, Rebana Biang music, the Biang Kerok Band, and renowned artist Mandra, among others,” he explained.

He emphasized that the use of fireworks and firecrackers is strictly prohibited at the celebration. In light of this, officials will continue to issue public advisories urging attendees to comply with the safety regulations.

“Taman Literasi has a maximum capacity of 2,000 people for the performance area. Once that limit is reached, a strict one-in, one-out system will be implemented,” he explained.

He noted that his office has coordinated with the park’s management, Integrasi Transit Jakarta (ITJ), and Satpol PP to oversee security and crowd control.

Additionally, a “Car Free Night” will be enforced along the corridor from the CSW transit hub through Jalan Panglima Polim and Melawai intersection. People are urged to use public transportation, as both Transjakarta and the MRT will extend their operations into the early morning hours.

“For those planning to bring private vehicles, please be aware that parking in the Blok M area is extremely limited. We strongly encourage everyone to use public transit," he stated.
