Jakarta Govt Promotes Shopping Through JFW 2025

The Jakarta Provincial Government has launched the Jakarta Festive Wonders (JFW) 2025, engaging 40 malls, 15 retailers, and 26 hotels across the city to revive shopping activity.

"...as part of the Jakarta Government's efforts to reactivate shopping activity in the city,"

The JFW judging has already begun, and today the assessment took place at Grand Indonesia Mall (GI) in Central Jakarta.

Jakarta's Assistant for Economy and Finance, Suharini Eliawati, along with the JFW 2025 judging team, was welcomed by GI mall management in the lobby area.

Suharini shared that JFW 2025, initiated by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, is a competition focused on transaction digitalization and decoration at various shopping malls and hotels.

"This competition is held as part of the Jakarta Government's efforts to reactivate shopping activity in the city," she stated on Friday (1/2).

She explained that in this competition, mall and hotel management are offering attractive and diverse packages to draw visitors and boost transactions.

"Malls and hotels will compete to accelerate digital payment adoption, making transactions easier for consumers," she added.

According to her, this event is made possible through collaboration between the Jakarta Provincial Government and several partners, including the Bank Indonesia Jakarta Branch Office, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Jabodetabek, APPBI DKI Jakarta (Indonesian Shopping Center Managers Association), HIPPINDO (Indonesian Retailers and Shopping Center Tenants Association), APRINDO (Indonesian Retailers Association), Jakarta Hotel Association (JHA), and PHRI (Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association).

Suharini said the competition aims to support Jakarta's economy by leveraging the Christmas and New Year holiday period.

"We are visiting Grand Indonesia Mall, one of three major categories being evaluated by the judging team. Judging will conclude on January 10, and winners for the top three malls, retailers, and hotels will be announced," she explained.

She mentioned that attractive prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each category: malls, retailers, and hotels.

"Moving forward, the digitalization program in Jakarta will continue to be enhanced," she concluded.
