North Jakarta PMI Pushed for Better Service Planning

North Jakarta Vice Mayor, Fredy Setiawan urged the local Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) to bolster its outreach and service delivery during the organization’s City Working Conference 2026 on Sunday (1/4).

They (PMI) have done exceptional work

Speaking to officials and volunteers, he emphasized the need for more robust community-focused initiatives in the coming year.

According to him, the North Jakarta PMI has proven its commitment to humanitarian work and its role as a key government partner.

"They (PMI) have done exceptional work, not only in blood services but also in healthcare and broader humanitarian tasks. In the future, I hope to see North Jakarta PMI drive further innovation and breakthroughs in the humanitarian sector," he expressed.

Given the organization’s existing resources and infrastructure, they are well-positioned to expand their impact in line with contemporary needs.

To achieve it, he urged that the working meeting be used as a strategic platform for consolidation and planning. It aims to strengthen internal capacity and human capital, streamlining work systems to deliver public services with greater speed, accuracy, and professionalism.

"They can strengthen the planning, control, and oversight of their work programs. Planning must be targeted, measurable, and aligned with both community needs and regional development policies," he asserted.

With their current capacity and facilities, they are well-positioned to expand its service impact in step with the evolving demands of the modern era.

He hoped that the working conference would serve as a strategic platform for consolidation, evaluation, and future planning.

"This would allow the organization to bolster its internal capacity, human capital, and operational systems, ensuring a response to public needs that is rapid, precise, and professional," he added.

North Jakarta PMI Chairman, Rijal underscored that transparency and collaborative effort between officials and volunteers remain the cornerstone of the organization's newly drafted work plan. The initiative also aims to develop humanitarian cadres who will act as the frontline in emergency responses.

"We're committed to reinvesting PMI's resources into the public through beneficial services, including our free ambulance fleet and various other humanitarian aids," he stated.
