Head of South Jakarta City Parks and Forestry Sub-agency, Herlina Merinda said the planting activity aims to increase green open space while supporting environmental conservation.

"Planting was carried out through the routine Friday Planting program and other activities," she said, Thursday (1/8).

She explained that planting was focused on land that looks barren, such as parks, public cemeteries, RPTRA, green belts, and other locations.

"The types of trees planted consist of protective and productive trees, such as tabebuya, ketapang kencana, trembesi, mahogany, matoa, mundu, frangipani, and other types," she explained.

The highest number of trees planted was in February, with 222, followed by January with 152, and July with 111. Meanwhile, the lowest number of trees planted was in October, with 39.

"Jagakarsa District is the location with the highest number of plantings, namely 265 trees throughout 2025. Meanwhile, Mampang Prapatan District recorded the least number of plantings, namely 57 trees," she added.

According to Herlina, her party will continue to intensify planting activities this year, especially on arid land and to replace plants that are not growing optimally.

"South Jakarta is currently the site of several parks, one of which is the Bendera Pusaka Park, which is still under construction. Of course, the site will undergo extensive reforestation," she stated.
