"The plan is to carry out 3 sorties to address and minimize the impact of the extreme weather," he said.

Yohan explained that the sortie means a flight mission to seed clouds using sodium chloride (NaCl). He acknowledged that more than three sorties could be conducted if conditions warranted.

The operation has been running since Friday (1/16) and Saturday (1/17). The operation is planned to last a week until Thursday (1/22).

The operation is carried out in collaboration with various relevant agencies, such as the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) and the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU). Operations are centered at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in East Jakarta.

"All operation activities are carried out based on the latest meteorological analysis and continuous atmospheric dynamics monitoring by the BMKG. Without the operation, the impact could be widespread," he stated.
