Inundation in 33 RWs Recede Completely, Pramono Says

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung confirmed that all areas affected by flooding due to the heavy rainfall that occurred last weekend have now been handled.

I checked it myself every day

Although flooding occurred in 33 RWs, he said the handling was still faster than in other areas, such as along the North Coast (Pantura) of Java which also experienced similar conditions.

"As of this morning, no one has been affected anymore," he said, Monday (1/19).

Pramono added that North Jakarta faced extreme weather with the highest rainfall intensity during his tenure. Based on data from eight monitoring points in North Jakarta, average rainfall reached 260 mm to 280 mm, above the normal threshold.

As the anticipation, the Jakarta Provincial Government has been carrying out Weather Modification Operations (OMC) from January 15 to 22, 2026. Even last Sunday, cloud seeding flights were carried out three times to reduce cloud density in the afternoon.

The Jakarta Provincial Government has allocated a budget for the OMC implementation, including through Unexpected Expenditures (BTT). He also confirmed that there were no administrative obstacles in shifting the BTT budget.

"Regarding the issue of rain and flood management during this month until after Chinese New Year, I checked it myself every day," he added.

Pramono also reminded the public not to throw rubbish carelessly into rivers, which could cause flooding.
