Ciliwung River Normalization Continues with a More Human-Centered Approach

"Rain has caused the water level of the Pesanggrahan River to increase since this morning, resulting in water overflow that has inundated roads and residential areas," he said, Thursday (1/29).

Aryan explained the inundation occurred on Jalan Puri Kembangan, RW 05, and also at RT 13, 04, and 02.

"Water levels on access roads ranged from 5 to 40 centimeters, while in residential areas, the water level was around 40 to 50 centimeters," he explained.

As many as 25 joint personnel of PPSU, Satpol PP, Transportation Agency, Army and Police gathered to handle the situation.

West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency also deployed two floating pumps to pump out the water.

"The current situation is that the water level has receded to around 15 to 20 centimeters. However, we remain vigilant because the weather is uncertain and there is information that the water level in Katulampa is starting to rise, so the potential for floodwaters still needs to be anticipated," he explained.

He added that due to the remaining floodwaters, four heads of families (KK) were affected and have taken temporary refuge in a mosque not far from their house.

"Regarding assistance, we have coordinated with the relevant parties," he admitted.
