Taufik detailed that this year's total target is 1,700 male cats and 500 female cats. To sterilize male cats, his team is collaborating with various communities and veterinary clinics, such as the Sehati Cat Lovers Community (KPKS), Let's Adopt, and several other partners.
"The sterilization of female cats is carried out in collaboration with the Indonesian Veterinary Association (PDHI). Collaboration with the community and professionals significantly contributes to the acceleration and effectiveness of this sterilization program," he explained.
Meanwhile, Sub-agency's Head Section of Husbandry and Animal Health, Theresia Ellita stated the 2026 sterilization program began with a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) activity at Kramat Jati Main Market on January 28, targeting 200 stray cats.
"Each sterilization activity involves around 30 joint personnel," she stated.
The sterilization process for male cats takes approximately 20-30 minutes per cat after anesthesia. Female cats take longer, approximately 30-40 minutes.
