Ahok: Don't Rush to Operate New Scania Bus

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama acknowledged that he gives leeway on the operational of 20 new Transjakarta bus branded Scania and only adrift on predetermined target, that is by the end of this year. Moreover, it coincides with Idul Fitri celebration.

Bus operational should be forced considering it coincides with Idul Fitri. I just focus on target, including Mayasari bus, which falls at the end of this year or in beginning of January 2016

According to Ahok, the bus administration is still being prepared, such as vehicle ownership document (STNK) and so on. He also admitted, the bus operational is not yet ready.

“Bus operational should be forced considering it coincides with Idul Fitri ,” he said, City Hall, Wednesday (7/15).

He admitted he was lucky due to Transjakarta already listed on e-catalogue, thus it does not pass the auction. If this is through auction, there will be bus price hike.

“If you were a producer, would you to have a production without guarantee? I bet you won’t. That's why we're lucky to have the LKPP in e-catalogue,” he expressed.

Ahok furthered purchasing through e-catalogue can already be realized next year as the producer can only produce one bus per day. He also prefers to local products, instead of imported products. "Just be patient rather than importing," he exclaimed.

As known, of the 20 Scania buses, only 5 buses can be operated. They will operate today or Wednesday (7/15). This is because they had completed administration document and will serve Corridor I (Blok M- Jakarta Kota). While the rest 15 buses will operate at the latest of this month. In details, about 5 of them to serve Corridor I and 10 others in Corridor IX (Pinang Ranti- Pluit).
