22 Buildings in West Jakarta Burnt

A vigorous fire gutted scores of semi-permanent buildings that stood atop Jalan Balong, RT 02/04 Srengseng Urban Village, West Jakarta, Monday (7/27).

The trash was burned near the building location so the fire spread and burned surrounding building

Head of West Jakarta Fire Management and Rescue Sub-Department, Pardjoko said fire which occurred at 4.30 AM was from citizen's activity in burning trash and spread to the settlement.

"The trash burning was near the settlement thus fire quickly spread and burned the citizen buildings," told Pardjoko.

Then as many as 22 fire trucks immediately deployed to the scene. Almost two hours, they finally managed to control the situation. "We successfully put out fire after struggling for nearly two hours," he finished.
