"The fire caused 10 kiosks on 1st floor burnt, 6 kiosk severely damaged and 4 other kiosks lightly damaged," explained Head of North Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-Department, Satriadi Gunawan.

Gunawan suspected the fire was caused by electrical short circuit from one of the kiosks on the 1st floor which then spread to the other kiosks.

He said, there was no meaningful difficulty in extinguishing the fire. But, as there were many flammable materials in the kiosks, it made the fire rapidly expand to others.
