Ahok: Teacher, Please Don't Take Student to Book Fair

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama disappointed when knowing the price of books in the exhibition of Jakarta Book & Education Fair 2015 is more expensive than in the market.

“Whereas they know the visitors are majority from low-financial family. But instead it be used to hike its price,” he said.

Ahok claimed that he has instructed Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) holder to shop school equipment at book fair to prevent any misuse of KJP fund by purchasing any of school equipment through electronic money system.

Nevertheless, he was not concerned if the committee still continue the exhibition which was opened on Monday (7/27) evening. He merely asking the KJP’s holder not to shop book at book fair anymore. “Just please keep the exhibition open, but I won’t urge the teacher to take the student there ,” he disclosed.
