Djarot: Cooperation with Border Areas Is Needed to Solve Psychotic Matter

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat instructed Jakarta Social Department to cooperate with Health Ministry and border area in an effort to run and smoothen a new program of anticipation of People With Social Welfare Problem (PMKS) and Psychotic.

“We have to cooperate with border areas as we cannot accommodate the PMKS to be rehabilitated,” he said, on the sidelines of an executive meeting (rapim), at City Hall, Monday (7/27).

Cipayung Social Institution is Overload

Former of Blitar Mayor acknowledged that Jakarta Social Department should invite the local government of Depok and Tangerang in order to discuss joint handling regarding psychotic.

“Or we establish cooperation with West Java and Banten Provinces to build a rehabilitation site for psychotic,” he expressed.

Djarot conveys that without cooperation, such program cannot run well as expectation. If it is required, the Health Ministry will be involved to assist in providing psychiatry and expert.

“This is important. Because the program cannot be run if there is no cooperation, despite the Lab Scientist therapy remains exist,” he expressed.

He also suggested the department to give opportunity to psychotics who have light mental disorder to do activities alike normal people.

“They (those who have light mental disorder) can still accept orders, like pick up trash and they will do it repeatedly. But there must be a guide to direct them to be more productive,” he voiced.
