Djarot Requests to Test e-Voting System

Vice Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat requests to test e-voting system that will be applied in the next 2017 Jakarta local elections (Pilkada).

He requests to test the system in remote area which have sparsely populated. “For instance in East Java, Mojokerto, Blitar, Probolinggo, Madiun or Yogyakarta,” he uttered.

However, if the e-voting system successfully applied in a number of smallest areas, then it will be applied in Jakarta. “If it proven successfully applied, then Jakarta certainly apply the system,” he told.

The former of Blitar Mayor conveyed that the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) must review the readiness of Regional Elections Commission (KPUD) as the organizer of elections commission for regional head.

“You can come over to Jakarta General Elections Commission as the organizer. We assist you in providing appropriate budget submitted by organizer,” he stated.
