School Building Rehab in Jakarta Stopped

Jakarta Provincial Government is about to stop the school building renovation this year since the proposed budget is too high. The project would be continued again next year by correcting the unit price.

I don't think that school building renovation could spend up to Rp 50 billion. Do you willingly to do that?

Jakarta Governor Basuki T. 'Ahok' Purnama admitted the proposed budget for school building renovation reached Rp 30-50 billion. He considered the budget is too expensive.

"I don't think that school building renovation could spend up to Rp 50 billion. Do you willingly to do that?" Ahok said, Friday (8/14).

Fire Prevention, Fire Campaign in Schools Intensified

The governor preferred to re-calculate the unit price. Rp 30 billion should be used to build a new building, not for renovation.

"If I signed the pro posal, contractors would have a party since they've won Rp 30-50 billion for one school building renovation," he disclosed.
