200 UKMs Encouraged to Supply School Stuffs for School Cooperative

The City Administration will re-activate school cooperative cooperating with 200 small and medium enterprises (UKM)s in the city.

Those UKMs will eventually supply students necessities in school cooperative in low-price. Thus students could expend their school stuffs in their school.

"If I mention, there are 200 UKMs ready to supply school stuffs for school cooperative," said Head of Jakarta Small and Medium Cooperatives Enterprises Department (KUMKMP), Irwandi, Wednesday (8/12).

According to him, Jakarta Education Department had asked him to push UKM products supplied to school cooperative. Particularly, the UKM which are producing kinds of school stuffs such as uniforms, bags, shoes, etc.

"In near future, we will direct UKM to supply uniforms in school cooperative. Coincidentally, we have guidance UKM that producing school uniforms," he told.

He added, such UKM are spread in Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta and Pulogadung, East Jakarta. Those UKM will eventually be directed to supply the products to school cooperative in low-price and competitive.

His party, he continued, will guide the existing school cooperative starting from financial management side and human source. In future, it is hoped could facilitate all activities in school, including distribution of Jakarta Smart Card (KJP).

"Later we will check the bookkeeping, management, and how the savings and loans are," he explained.
