Central Jakarta Becomes a Pilot Project for Smart Light

Jakarta Provincial Government will make Central Jakarta as a pilot project for smart light installation. The reason, Central Jakarta has a better street light network than other regions and has the type of energy-saving and non-energy-saving lamp.

The installation was programmed by private party in 2014 through CSR. Now, City Government will realize it gradually

Jakarta Industry and Energy Department Head, Haris Pindratno said, his side will install 30,349 smart lights consisting of 7,899 energy-saving lamps and 22,450 non energy-saving lamps.  

He uttered, such program is intended to save the budget and facilitate officers to perform maintenance and supervision in the field. They only need to turn off and turn on the lights with a remote control, and they can also find out the cause of lights went out or electrical current leakage.

"The installation was programmed by private party in 2014 through CSR. Now, City Government will realize it gradually," told Pindratno, Wednesday (8/19).

He stated, the cost of this program is quite big so cannot be done at once. According to him, the program is in the auction process in Jakarta Goods and Services Procurements (BPPBJ) and will be done in next 2 weeks.

He mentioned, at the beginning, a total of 62 big companies joined the auction, but after verified, the number was reduced to 20 and leaving only 3 today. Later, the company will be selected again by independent team to declare the winner.

There are three types of auctions in these smart lights procurement. The first is an auction for the lights and the system, then the auction only for the system and the auction for component that can enable the smart lights.
