Thousands of Street Lights will Be Installed in South Jakarta

Thousands of street lights (PJU) will be installed in South Jakarta this year. Its installation will be done in residential neighborhood and highway to facilitate the residents to conduct any activity comfortably at night.

"We will install the street lights PJU in 6,483 points in South Jakarta this year," told South Jakarta Industry and Energy Department Head, Hasmi Chalid, Saturday (4/25).

According to Chalid, those street lights are spread in 10 sub-districts because 90 percent of them is the result of people aspirations in the South Jakarta Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbang).

"Of the 6,483 points, 90 percent of them is from people aspiration or about 5,834 points," he said.

For this year, Chalid continued, his side will use light emitting diode (LED) lamps which is more energy efficient than other types of light bulbs.

"Yes, we will use the LED lamp this year," he said.

As for the budget for the street light installation reaches Rp 56.9 billion.

"It will be auctioned after the budget is disbursed," he stated.
