C. Jakarta Ready to Open Chicken Market Operation

Central Jakarta Marine, Agriculture, and Food Security Sub-Department (KPKP) is preparing an anticipatory action to conduct market operation against strike action by chicken traders.

We’ll take action if the traders do strike action and cause chicken scarcity

Head of Central Jakarta Marine, Agriculture, and Food Security Sub-Department, Muljadi admitted that his sub-department has coordinated with PD Pasar Jaya, PD Dharma Jaya and RPH Rawa Kepiting, to conduct the operation. “We’ll take action if the traders do strike action and cause chicken scarcity,” he stressed, Wednesday (8/19).

E. Jakarta KPKP Monitored Chicken Traders in Traditional Markets

The department keeps monitoring some traditional markets and supermarkets. They are Atom in Pasar Baru, Karanganyar, Gembrong Baru, Benhil, Senen Market, as well as four supermarkets in Menteng and Johar Baru.

From the monitoring results, the chicken meat price has increased significantly. Previously, it was only Rp 20-25 thousand/kg, and now increased Rp 40-45 thousand/kg.

"Indeed, the price has crept up since last week. But traders still selling normally," he finished.
