Broiler Chicken Traders in E. Jakarta Still Trading Normally

In the middle of issue about broiler traders’ mass strike, the all broiler traders in some traditional markets in East Jakarta are reportedly still trading normally.

We would be better to sell than doing mass strike and get nothing. Moreover, out action is not compact

The traders decided to keep trading because mass strike is an effective way to decrease broiler chicken price.

Beef Traders Back to Their Activity

"We would be better to sell than doing mass strike and get nothing. Moreover, out action is not compact," told Udin (43), a broiler trader in Enjo Market, Jalan Pisangan Lama II, Pisangan Timur Urban Village, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Wednesday (8/19).

He admitted the price began to skyrocketing since last Ramadhan. Previously, it was Rp 20 thousand per kilogram and back to increase Rp 35 thousand per kilogram.

"This causes our earnings declined by 40 percent," he told.

Similar condition is also spotted at Perumnas Klender Market on Jalan Teratai Raya, Malaka Jaya, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta.

"Trading in Perumnas Klender Market is still normal, but traders deliberately cut their little profit, thus chickens still sold," voiced H Arif, Manager of Perumnas Klender Large Market Unit Manager (UPB).

According to him, the buyer is dominated by catering and restaurant entrepreneurs.

"Traders have to supply to avoid penalty," he uttered.
