Lebaran Betawi will Be an Annual Event

Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) attended the Lebaran Betawi Festival that staged in Lapangan Banteng, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Sunday (8/23).
After the bylaw is issued, the festival will be an annual agenda through City Budget (APBD)
Ahok said the festival is the first time after the Bylaw of Betawi Culture Preservation issued. It is hoped, all entertainment venues, crowded places, offices, etc, could be beautified with Betawi ornamental. Not only that, every event must provide Betawi souvenirs.
He also gave an award placard to one of the late Asbah's daughter, a Betawian figure who initiated Lebaran Betawi which had been colored Jakarta 8 years ago.

Chairman of Bamus Betawi, Zainudin hoped the festival could be held routinely 4 weeks after Idul Fitri.
"After the bylaw is issued, the festival will be an annual agenda through City Budget (APBD), instead of community figure," he told.
For each festival, the city administration requires Rp 800 million-Rp 1 billion. That is why, they would use APBD.
In its implementation, several aids are also prepared, such as land, stage, house and so on.
