60 Street Vendor Stalls in Mangga Dua Demolished

As much as 60 street vendor stalls standing on water channel on Jalan Mangga Dua Apdat, Mangga Dua Selatan Urban Village, Sawah Besar Sub-District, Central Jakarta demolished by 100 joint personnel, Monday (8/24).

During the demolishment process,
PLN officer were also took the role to
switch off the electricity connection installed in each stalls. The stalls then
transported to Bantar Gebang Waste Disposal Site (TPA).
“We already gave them warning and even Demolish Warrant Letter
that we’re going to dredge all shallow channel,” said Sawah Besar Sub-District Head,
Martua, Monday (8/24).
Usman (45), one of traders, stated there is no relocation effort
for them since they have been occupying their stalls since 1970.
“There is no certainty about relocation process, we wish to be
arranged well, its hard for us to be moved as our costumers are from this area,”
he disclosed.
