As many as 34 houses which are used as dorm business in East Jakarta found unlicensed.

As those things could cause chaos, nest of drugs transaction and use, also prostitutes

Those houses are in Cakung Sub-District, Penggilingan Urban Village, there is one house with 35 units room. Then in Duren Sawit Sub-Distrixt, Klender Urban Village  one house with 24 units room.

In Matraman Sub-District 7 units, precisely in Kayu Selatan Urban Village 4 units, Kayu Utara Urban Village 2 units, and Palmeriam Urban Village 1 unit.

While, there are 19 units in Kramat Jati Sub-District, 5 units in Cawang Lima Urban Village, 5 units in Batu Ampar Urban Village, 2 units in Kramat Jati, and 2 units Balekambang Urban Village. Then, in Pulogadung Sub-District there are 6 buildings spread in Pulogadung Urban Village.

"There are buildings which the rooms rented daily. The dorm which has mor e than 10 rooms is supposed to be charged hotel tax, then pay it to Tourism Sub-Department," said Head of East Jakarta Housing and Government's Building Department, Ujang Zainuddin,Monday (8/24).

He told, the house used as dorm should be known or permitted by the urban village side. Considering, there are other people staying  in the dorm, thus possibly cause a trouble.

"In regulations of public order, the dorm's owners should keep the order. As those things could cause chaos, nest of drugs transaction and use, also prostitutes," he explained.

He added, his party has coordinated with Satpol PP, sub-district and urban village  thus the dorm owners obtain business license. "The owners are suggested to process the license and selectively accepting the occupants. Then we just need to survey and observe the building feasibility," he disclosed.
