Mayor Until Urban Village Head Asked to Care About Kids

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama instructed all mayors, sub-district and urban village heads to participate monitoring kids in each area.

"Don't let kids in Jakarta suffering malnutrition, not going to school, having no playground, etc," said Ahok, on the sidelines of National Kid's Day of Jakarta in Dunia Fantasi, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Wednesday (8/26). 

The government committed to prosper kids. For example, by giving Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) and propagating Child-Friendly Public Space (RPTRA) etc.

He also hopes, every national kid's day event the participant always changed every year. "I'm instructing social department, if there is budget, entertainment for kids should be held twice a year and it could also be for touring around Jakarta using double-decker bus," he explained. 

The event was participated 1,500 kids consisting of street, abandoned, disability, against law kids, orphans and poor, Jakarta Kids Forum from 5 areas in Jakarta. 

In the occasion, he also gave aid in form of two wheel chairs, 5 prosthetic legs, hearing aids, packages of story books and compensation money.
