October-November, 19 Automatic Tow Trucks Operating

Following additional 19 automatic tow trucks as illegal parking anticipation, the city administration announced that its procurement is still being auctioned. Predictably, the operational will be active in the upcoming October or November.

If the auction is done in September, perhaps the truck can already operate in October or November

"If the auction is done in September, perhaps the truck can already operate in October or November," said Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Andri Yansyah, Friday (8/28).

Yansyah disclosed the truck purchase was through e-catalog in the Government Procurement Regulatory Body (LKPP) by using 2015 City Budget (APBD). "I forgot the nominal is, but certainly we use APBD," he voiced.

19 Automatic Tow Trucks in Jakarta Added

Besides boosting local revenue (PAD), he stated, the purchase also aims to give deterrent effect for people who park illegally.

"So far, we already have 3 units in every sub-department and 3 other units in every department," he detailed.

He is optimistic illegal parking could be controlled more effective. Of the 19 trucks, every sub-department would receive 5 units and 5 others to Parking Technical Management Unit (UPT).

And the rests are to department. Totally, we would have 34 trucks in future," he told.
