Political Props in Car Free Day will Be Confiscated

Satpol PP officers will confiscate props that contain of seditious things and politics messages in Car Free Day event, every Sunday along protocol roads in Jakarta. 

The event is not for politic events, yet for exercising and cleaning air pollution

Head of Jakarta Satpol PP, Kukuh Hadi Santosa stated based on Gubernatorial Regulations No.119/2012, the car free day is held for cleaning air pollution, and also as exercise facility for citizens. 

"The event is not for politic events, yet for exercising and cleaning air pollution," he said, at City Hall, Tuesday (9/1). 

Intercept Car Free Day, Driver Can Be Punished

Based on that, the government never prohibits people to do marathon in car free day area but they cannot make it as political event. 

"Those who hold political event will not be dealt, we will only confiscate their props," he stressed.

He hopes by confiscating their props, it could bring them around about the main purpose of holding the event. 

"I obey what Mr. Governor said even though the political movement is for supporting him, but we are instructed to handle it. He obeys the rules and constitution," he disclosed.
