42 Illegal Buildings in Pulogadung Demolished

Dozens of illegal buildings and stalls in two urban villages in Pulogadung Sub-District, East Jakarta, demolished due to standing on water channel and violating the Bylaw No.8/2007 on Public Order. 

They had been socialized for a long time as the residents complained about their existence that made the channel disrupted

Those buildings are 35 buildings on Jalan Pulomas Selatan, RT 16/07, Kayu Putih Urban Village and 7 buildings on Jalan Layur, Jati Urban Village. 

Kayu Putih Urban Village, Ade Hidayat Priyadi stated, after the owners were socialized and warned, those buildings then demolished.

"They had been socialized for a long time as the residents complained about their existence that made the channel disrupted," he stated. 

Pulogadung Sub-District Head, Ahmad Hariadi added, those demolished buildings on Jalan Layur, were used as street vendors' stalls. 

"They understood that their building should be demolished. Afterwards, we will encourage them to be relocated to a place determined on Jalan Layur.
