Basuki Minta Pemotongan Hewan Qurban Dilakukan di RPH

Basuki: Sacrificial Animal Slaughtering must Be in Slaughterhouse

In a bid to anticipate unwanted things, like disease, Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama revealed that the slaughter of sacrificial animals on Idul Adha must be conducted in the Animal Slaughterhouse (RPH).

The ban also applies on public facilities in Jakarta

"The animal slaughtering in school is actually prohibited, because its blood spurted onto the ground. Surely, it could spread disease to students," said Basuki, at City Hall, Tuesday (9/8).

He disclosed, such slaughtering ban in school was already set in Gubernatorial Instruction that issued every year. "The ban also applies on public facilities in Jakarta," he stressed.

In Arab Saudi for instance, he cited, the slaughtering cannot be conducted on public place and roadside. "Of course, we are also the same," he expressed.

Such Gubernatorial Instruction was addressed to mayors, Seribu Islands Regent, Head of Marine and Agriculture Department, Head of Cleanliness Department, Head of Education Department, Head of Satpol PP, Head of Governance Bureau, and Head of Economic Bureau. All of them are obligated to conduct sacrificial animal slaughtering in Cakung and Pulogadung Slaughterhouses, East Jakarta.\

He also instructed Satpol PP to raid illegal animal slaughterhouses in Jakarta.
