Illegal Buildings Along Tanjung Priok Railway will Be Demolished

North Jakarta Administration intends to demolish illegal buildings along railway around Tanjung Priok Train Station. Their existence also could be used by people to do criminal action.

For convenience and safety of train passengers, w e will make the area clean and beautiful

North Jakarta Vice Mayor, Wahyu Haryadi stated, the demolishment is for small-sized shacks that are used as settlement, food, cigarettes, and drink stalls makes the area looks slum.

"Besides that, they will also impact on criminal prone. Considering the area is densely populated area," he explained, Tuesday (9/8).

According to him, such demolishment had been conducted on the 3rd day post Eid-ul Fitr 2015. After the shack onwers are back to Jakarta, they rebuilt their shacks along the rail. "There are about 30 illegal buildings standing on there,"
