Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama officialy opened
City
Hall Tourism this Saturday (9/12) at 10.30 AM on Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan,
Gambir, Central Jakarta.
I often sit here while looking the beauty of National Monument (Monas), I wonder how if Jakartans can feel what I feel, can see what I see at that moment, that’s feel so cozy
Before the inauguration, Ahok firstly explained about the history of City
Hall construction since the Dutch era. Activity was followed by prayers and
statements of tour event of the City Hall Bureau Head City Secretary, Agustino
Darmawan as the chairman committee of the event.
“I often sit here while looking the beauty of National Monument
(Monas), I wonder how if Jakartans can feel what I feel, can see what I see at
that moment, that’s feel so cozy,” he said when opened City Hall Tour.
He acknowledged, there are so many Jakartans who have no house
terrace just like City Hall have that used to be Dutch ruler home.
“Dutch colonial had this comfy feeling, that’s why they restrict
Jakartans to have what they exactly have,” he expressed.
Besides that, another reason set City Hall as tourism site is to
display photo of Jakarta ancestor’s history until current Governor.
By opening City Hall Tourism, young generations can have gathering
spot to share ideas, creativity and also utilize free Wi-Fi facility provided
at City Hall.
“You can gather here, do positive
things here. Don’t do any vandalism things and also give a chance for you to promote
your products here. By praising God, I cordially welcome City Hall Tour,” he
uttered while beating drums and greteed by local dance.
