Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama said, his side currently is accelerating Light Rail Transit (LRT) construction to tackle congestion in capital. "The congestion in city main road is extremely worst lately. Imagine, every year there would be 2.8 million motorcycles in Jakarta," Basuki said when attended the 2015 Diplomatic Corps Gathering in Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday (9/16).
Ahok also will expand the rule banning motorcycles passing on main road and will be applied gradually.
