Papanggo Urban Village Head, Maryono stated, the dredging of the channel along 300 meters and width half meter was conducted as the channel has been full of mud mixed with trash.

"Because of that, water from the channel often overflows. It also aims to minimize mosquitoes breed," he stated, Thursday (9/17).

Channel Along Jalan Pasar Karang Anyar will Be Normalized

As many as 15 Infrastructures and Public Facilities Handling (PPSU) officers were involved in the action. As a result, 200 sacks of mud were successfully dredged from the channel.

He added, his party hopes residents participate maintaining cleanliness by cleaning channels in each residence.

"Residents' participation is very important to maintain cleanliness. Hence, residents are hoped not lazy to clean channels and dispose trash in its place," he disclosed.
