Jokowi Inaugurated First Boring of MRT Construction

President, Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated first boring rig operating of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) construction on Monday (9/21). The first boring began at the point of MRT project Pemuda Senayan statue toward Setiabudi by using Tunnel Boring Machine imported directly from Japan.

Obayashi, Wijaya Karya and Jaya Konstruksi.
The rig diameter is 6.7 meter by
323 tons weight. The construction period will be carried out up to December
2016.
