Just being inaugurated by Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo on Thursday (2/27), Ciplak Market in Cipinang, East Jakarta, has received complained from the locals. Precisely, the residents living in RT 06/03, Cipinang Besar Selatan Urban Village, are complaining the loud noise of meat grinder machines in the market. They hope grinder machine owners could install silencer to drown out the sound. But since the market management has not came up with solution, the residents become disappointed.
For information, residents’ settlement is located only 7-10 meters away behind Ciplak Market. Meanwhile, the meat grinder machines are operated between 3-10 AM in two kiosks, namely kiosks number 254 and 251 in Block Lot A.LSB.BKS. As a result, residents’ bedtime becomes disturbed by the machines’ loud noise.
Istiqomah (52), one of the residents, said the sound of the meat grinder machines is very loud, just like the machines in big factories. “Besides loud noise, the meat grinder machines also produce smoke which chimney muzzles are directed to the settlement. Thus, the smoke spread to residents’ houses. We hope there is a solution for this matter, because we’re very much disturbed,” she stated, Friday (2/28).
According to Istiqomah, this problem has happened since the market operated in October 2013. Two weeks ago, the residents came to Ciplak Market Chief and asked him to find solution, reprimand the meat grinder machine kiosk owners, and install silencer. But until now, there is no follow up yet.
Responding this, Ciplak Market Chief, Nurdin, admitted that he has sent reprimand letter to the meat grinder machine kiosk owners. As a matter of fact, the second reprimand letter will be sent today. The letter asks the meat grinder machine kiosk owners to install silencer and direct the machines’ chimney muzzles head up instead of pointing to residents’ settlement. “We have summoned the meat grinder machine kiosk owners and given them warning letter. We’ll find a solution, so vendors and residents are all happy,” he finished.
