Crime Prevention, 150 CCTVs will Be Installed in N. Jakarta

About 150 closed circuit television (CCTV)s cameras will be installed at some points in six sub-districts. Among these points are

Danau Sunter, Tanjung Priok Terminal, Pluit Reservoir, East Flood Canal (KBT) and Jalan Yos Sudarso.

13 CCTVs in Johar Baru Asked to Be Operated Immediately

"We're still collecting crime-prone areas in six sub-districts. Every sub-district will have 10 CCTVs," said Head of North Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Department, Tuti Kurnia, Monday (9/21).

Kurnia expressed that those made in Chinese CCTVs will be connected with Smart City. Thus it can monitor via android-based mobile phone.

"The first unit will be installed in Pluit Reservoir. Temporarily, we will install 50 CCTVs first and the rest will be done gradually," she stated.

She disclosed another function of CCTV is capable of knowing the factual street light condition and other facilities.

"For instance is street lights in park, street, park bench that stolen or damaged and pedestrian," she told.

She added 50 CCTVs will be installed in early October 2015 and all is predicted to be complete on December 15.
