DJarot: Supervision in School is Still Low

The death case that experienced by NA (8), who was persecuted by her/his classmate with initials R (8), while participating in drawing competition in SDN 07 Pagi Kebayoran Lama Utara, Kebayoran Lama, a week ago, seizing the concern of Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat.

Teacher is supposed to educate, how to respect fellow, socialize and educate them and how to solve conflict

According to Djarot, the cause of the tragedy cannot be separated with the low supervision of the school side. Even, there are still many teachers who do not understand their function and duty as educator.

"Teacher is supposed to educate, how to respect fellow, socialize and educate them and how to solve conflict," he expressed, at City Hall, Tuesday (9/22).

Principal & Teacher's Quality All Over Jakarta will Be Improved

He told, currently, the teacher and student are only demanded with routine learning without paying attention of education. Whereas, teacher's duty is not only for transferring knowledge to students but also educate and care about them even in school hours.

"Teacher's supervision in school should be improved and self introspection," he uttered.
