Handling Puddles, Sediment in Culvert Along Jalan Di Panjaitan Dredged

Due to it is strewn with sediment, a box culvert that located under Cawang Flyover, Jalan DI Panjaitan, East Jakarta, dredged.

East Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department Head, Ahmad Yazied disclosed the dredging has been ongoing since on Monday (9/21). And it is targeted to be complete by the end of next week.

"We will dredge the sediment in the culvert," he expressed, Wednesday (9/23).

According to him, by doing so, the water heading to supporting channel towards Cawang pump house can flow smoothly. Then it can be flowed to Cipinang River. To optimize it, as many as 30 officers are sent every day. After dredging is done, similar step would be carried out to surrounding water channels.

"From upstream until downstream, the dredging must be carried out. While channel under Cawang Flyover, besides dredging, will be widened," he voiced.

In last rainy season, Jalan DI Panjaitan starting from Penas Traffic Light until Cawang Flyover had inundated with water level more than 40 cm. It also caused traffic jam.
