An Alu-alu connecting channel located in Pulo Gadung Sub-District, East Jakarta begins to be normalized. According to the plan, it is targeted to finish in early December.

Besides dredging mud, it also includes sheet pile reparation. This way is hoped able to reduce puddles along Jalan Pisangan Lama, Pisangan Timur Urban Village, Pulo Gadung.

Section Head of Water Management for East Jakarta Water Management Sub-Department, Mukhid admitted in last rainy season, the area was inundated up to 20 cm. To solve it, the channel was drained from upstream of Jalan Wisma Jaya to downstream, downstream of Jalan Alu-alu, Jatinegara Kaum, Pulogadung.

“ Normalization has begun this week. In downstream, the water will be directed to Sunter River, ” he said, Friday (9/25).

Due to unfit land using heavy equipment, he furthered, the process would take a long time.

Afterwards, there would be sheet pile reparation. “It is targeted to be complete this early December,” he disclosed.
