Fines for Vandalism of Road & Sidewalk Drafted

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama was annoyed with many damaged roads and sidewalks due to underground cable excavation project in the city.

We are currently formulating in LKPP e-catalogue. There will be fines per square meter if ruin the sidewalks

“We often warn PLN and Pertamina. They pledge us to fix it. But in fact, they blame the contractor if there any damage,” he said at City Hall, Tuesday (10/6).

Ahok admitted that he has prepared anticipatory way to minimize company who run the project caused roads damage.

“We are currently formulating in LKPP e-catalogue. There will be fines per square meter if ruin the sidewalks,” he expressed.

City Administration cannot direct impose sanction to the company because there still no laws protection.

“There is no law protection if we impose the sanction against the company,” he disclosed.
