104 Damaged Roads Repair in E. Jakarta Accelerated

We utilize this dry season to repair damaged roads and is hoped can finish before rainy season

Due to lack of equipment, East Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department only did repair on 337 out of 441 damaged roads in East Jakarta and still leaves 104 roads that have not been repaired. Its repair uses unpredictable budget.

Head of Road Maintenance Section for East Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, Arief Faizal explained the rest damaged roads are currently still under repair, like in RW 011 Rawamangun Urban Village, Pulogadung.

"We utilize this dry season to repair damaged roads and is hoped can finish before rainy season. if there are still damage roads, we will repair them soon. Thus far, 337 damaged roads have been repaired and still leaves 104 roads," he expressed, Tuesday (9/23).

Meanwhile, those damaged roads that have not been repaired are located on Jalan Raya Pondok Gede in TMII area, Jalan Taruna Jaya Pulogadung, Jalan Janur 1 Duren Sawit, Jalan Cipinang Baru Raya Pulogadung, Jalan Tarum Barat Makasar, Jalan Jatinegara Barat, Jalan Raya Bogor, precisely starting from in front of PT PLN office in Kramatjati until Pasarebo junction and other some points.

Chief of RW 011 Rawamangun Urban Village, Fauzie Bustami disclosed that such damaged roads have been exist since 1976 and was never repaired. Its condition is neglected, causing potholes and inundation.

"This is the first time the related unit takes initiative to repair the roads, considering local citizens keep requesting repair work to them," he expressed.
