Head of Kebon Melati Urban Village, Winetrin stated previously, the channel has depth 1.5 m. But, it has been shallow since 2 years ago due to a lot of construction debris from a shopping center disposed to the channel. Consequently, the residential in RW 07 is often flooded when raining.

"We deploy 15 Infrastructures and Public Facilities Handling (PPSU) officers. The dredging probably takes a month as the medium is difficult ," he explained, Friday (10/9).

Ideally, he told, the dredging use heavy equipment. Unfortunately, the access to the location is very narrow thus it is hard to be reached by the equipment.

"Then finally the channel is dredged manually. The officers are equipped with crowbar, hoe, sickle, etc," he disclosed.
