RPTRA is Potential to Prevent Violence Against Children

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama (Ahok), designed Child-Friendly Integrated Public Open Space (RPTRA) to be favourite place for all elements. The RPTRA existence is hoped to diminish child abuse case.

"The park concept is demanded for all elements, baby to elder. Various problems may be eliminated there," said Basuki, Thursday (10/15).

RPTRA is completed with several facilities such as closed circuit television (CCTV).

Prevent Violence Case, Headmen Instructed to Supervise Schools

"You can see whether your children are still at the park not via CCTV through our Smart City application," he added.

According to him, the happiness index can be seen on how long they are at the park, not how long they visit the park. Other facilities are library, medical checkup, and PKK Mart.

"Our people need a place to share. So come to RPTRA," he continued.

At this moment, six RPTRAs have been built in Untung Jawa Island, Cililitan, Cideng, Sungai Bambu, Kembangan, and Gandaria Selatan. It is targeted that 54 RPTRAs constructed this year.
